We finally made it to Wheeler Geologic Area, one of Colorado’s most unique natural wonders! Wheeler Geologic Area features towering rock spires and formations carved from volcanic ash over millions of years. Located deep in the Rio Grande National Forest, it is accessible by a 14 mile high-clearance 4WD road or 7 mile hike on East Bellows Trail. The effort is well worth it for the stunning views, and the 4+ mile trail around the area is a great way to stretch your legs after a long ride!
